Self-Reported Outcomes With the Use of a mHealth Fetal Monitoring App During Pregnancy

Fetal movement monitoring has been examined as means of assessing fetal health and detecting distress that, left untreated, may result in stillbirth. Count the Kicks is an evidence-based stillbirth prevention campaign focused on educating expectant parents about importance tracking 3rd trimester pregnancy. The purpose this study to assess effectiveness Kick campaign, including: 1) how women use app during their pregnancy; 2) if was effective helping mothers track babies’ movements; 3) increased awareness a change movement, and; 4) so, outcome baby(babies). : A total 809 that had previously used completed self-report survey pregnancy outcomes, medical care, experience with app, birth outcomes. Responses from complete surveys were analyzed by χ2 analysis, McNemar test for paired responses. Analysis showed significant differences women's experiences when they compared pregnancies didn't. Use associated greater adherence clinical kick counting recommendations, knowledge patterns identification movement. Women who more likely be seen healthcare provider decreased non-app pregnancies. also reduced anxiety maternal bonding. better outcomes improved understanding monitoring.
